Shopify to Kogan – Product Listing Guide

How to Create a Product Listing Profile for Kogan

Commercium allows you to automatically list products from your Shopify store to Kogan.
Before creating a Kogan listing, you can use the Listing Profile to control:
  • Which Shopify products should be listed on Kogan
  • How product titles and descriptions should appear
  • How product prices should be adjusted
  • Which Kogan category products should be listed under
  • How required Kogan attributes should be populated
  • How product information such as brand, dimensions, shipping price, handling days, and location should be mapped
This guide explains how to configure the Shopify → Kogan Product Listing Profile using the latest Commercium interface.

1. Open the Kogan Listing Profile

To create a listing profile, go to:

Products → List Products
Select Kogan and click Add New / Create Listing Profile.

You will see the Kogan Listing Profile screen.

The listing profile is divided into several sections so that you can configure your product listing step by step.

2. Profile Name

Profile Name

Enter a name that makes it easy to identify the purpose of the listing profile.

For example:

  • Shopify to Kogan – All Products
  • Shopify to Kogan – Electronics
  • Kogan – Refurbished Products
Tip: Use a descriptive name if you plan to create multiple Kogan listing profiles.
3. Profile Status

You can choose whether the profile should be:

  • Draft – The profile is saved but not active.
  • Active – The profile is active and can be used immediately.
If you are still configuring your mappings, we recommend keeping the profile in Draft until all required settings have been reviewed.
4. Select Which Shopify Products to List
The Which Products You Want to List? section allows you to decide which Shopify products should be included in this listing profile.
You can create conditions using:
  • Shopify product fields
  • Condition Evaluator
  • Value

For example, you can create a rule based on a product's SKU or another available field.

Example
If you want to list products whose Shopify SKU contains a particular value, you can configure a condition such as:
Channel SKU → Contains → ABC
This allows you to control which Shopify products are sent to Kogan instead of automatically applying the profile to every product.
You can click + Add New to add additional product-selection conditions.

5. Title & Description Mapping
The Title Description Mapping Rule controls how your Shopify product title and description will appear on Kogan.

This section is important because the information available in Shopify may need to be formatted or adjusted before being sent to Kogan.

Product Title

You can customize the Kogan product title using:

  • Shopify product information
  • Available shortcodes
  • Custom text
  • AI-powered content optimization
For example, you can use the [TITLE] shortcode to pass the existing Shopify product title to Kogan.

You can also combine text and shortcodes.

Example
If the Shopify product title is:
Wireless Bluetooth Headphones

You could configure the title as:

[TITLE] – Premium
The resulting Kogan title would be:
Wireless Bluetooth Headphones – Premium
Available Shortcodes
Depending on the available fields, you can use shortcodes such as:
  • [TITLE]
  • [SKU]
  • [DESCRIPTION]
  • [TAGS]
  • [VARIATIONS]
  • [SHORT-DESCRIPTION]
  • Custom fields

These allow you to build the Kogan title or description using information already available in Shopify.

AI-Powered Content Optimization
The listing profile also provides AI-powered content options that can help modify your product content before it is sent to Kogan.

Depending on the available options, you can use this to:

  • Remove HTML
  • Translate content
  • Rephrase content
  • Adjust title length

This can be useful when the destination marketplace has specific formatting or character requirements.

Product Description

You can configure the Kogan product description in a similar way.

You can either pass the Shopify description as it is or combine Shopify fields with custom text and available shortcodes.

For example:

[DESCRIPTION]
will pass the Shopify product description to Kogan.
Important: Make sure the formatting used in your description is supported by the destination marketplace. Unsupported formatting can cause product creation to fail. The existing Commercium Listing Rules guide also notes that some marketplaces do not support text formatting in product descriptions.
6. Price Modifier Rule
The Price Modifier Rule allows you to change the Shopify product price before the product is listed on Kogan.
You can choose:

Adjustment Type

  • Increase
  • Decrease
Adjustment Method
  • Flat Amount
  • Percentage
Example 1 – Increase by a Flat Amount
If the Shopify price is $100 and you configure:
Increase → $10 → Flat Amount

The Kogan price will be: $110

Example 2 – Increase by Percentage

If the Shopify price is $100 and you configure:
Increase → 10%

The Kogan price will be: $110

This is useful if you need a different selling price on Kogan compared with Shopify.

7. Category Mapping Rule
The Category Mapping Rule determines which Kogan category your Shopify products will be listed under.

This is one of the most important parts of the listing profile because products need to be mapped to the appropriate Kogan category and its required attributes.

Step 1 – Select Category
Use the Select Category field to search for and select the appropriate Kogan category.
8. Understanding Attribute Mapping
Once you click Map Attributes, you can determine where the value for each Kogan attribute should come from.
The mapping options can include:
Default
Use Default when you want to provide the same fixed value for all products using this listing profile.

For example:

Brand → Default → ABC
This means the value ABC will be sent for the Brand attribute for products using this rule.
Native Field
Use Native Field when the required information already exists in a standard Shopify product field.

For example, if Kogan requires a particular product value and that information already exists in a Shopify native field, you can map the Kogan attribute to that field.

Custom Field
Use Custom Field when the required information is stored in a Shopify custom field/metafield.

This is particularly useful when product-specific information is maintained in Shopify metafields.

The existing Commercium guide describes these three mapping approaches as Default, Native Field, and Custom Field.

9. Kogan Product Information Fields

The new Kogan Listing Profile interface also provides dedicated mapping sections for additional product information.

These fields allow you to decide which Shopify data should be sent to the corresponding Kogan field.

Brand

Use this mapping to provide the product's Brand to Kogan.
Example:
Brand → Default / Native Field / Custom Field

First Price
Use this field to determine the First Price value sent to Kogan.

Select the appropriate mapping type and then select the Shopify field containing the required value.

Handling Days
This field is used to provide the product's Handling Days information.

For example, you can set default value 1, 3 or 5 days or more depends on how much days you want to set.

Product Height
Use this mapping to send the product's Height to Kogan.

You can select the appropriate Shopify field containing the product height.

If your products require height then only you need to map this value
Product Length
Use this mapping to send the product's Length information to Kogan. If your products require lenght then only you need to map this value

RRP

The RRP field allows you to map the recommended retail price information required for the Kogan listing. You can set the price list from Shopify file.
Example - compare at price or price
Product Location
Use this field to specify the product's Location. If you have connected Kogan AU and NZ both on Commercium then only you need to do this mapping

Make sure the to add AU or NZ only because this value is only accepted ny Kogan.

Refurbished Product
If your products include refurbished items, use this mapping to provide the appropriate Refurbished Product value.

The value should be "Yes" selected from the available mapping options.

Shipping Price
Use this field to map the Shipping Price that should be sent to Kogan.

If you want to apply free shipping then you can add 0, if you want to charge any flat amount for shipping then you can add shipping price.

Example - $10, $5

Shipping Price Type

This field allows you to specify the Shipping Price Type using the available options.

If you are using variable shipping then select variable option otherwise you can leave this mapping.

Product Width
Use this mapping to send the product's Width information to Kogan. If your products does require this information then only you need to map.
11. Save the Listing Profile
Once all mappings have been completed, click Save Listing Profile.
Your Shopify → Kogan listing profile is now configured.
If the profile is set to Active, it can be used to list the applicable Shopify products to Kogan according to the rules and mappings you configured.
Important
The values available for mapping depend on the fields and data available in your Shopify store and the requirements of the selected Kogan category.

For category-specific attributes, make sure the required information is available in Shopify before creating the listing. Commercium's mapping functionality allows values to be supplied using fixed/default values, Shopify native fields, or Shopify custom fields.

Once all required mappings are completed, save the profile and activate it when you are ready to start listing your Shopify products on Kogan.
