Connecting Shopify Store to Commercium

This article will guide you through the process of generating the required credentials from your Shopify store, enabling you to successfully connect it with Commercium by Constacloud.

Follow the steps below to generate these details from the Shopify Developer Dashboard.
  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin.
  2. From the left-hand menu, click Settings.
  3. Navigate to Apps.
  4. Click Build App In Dev Dashboard


5. Click Create App.

6. Enter an app name; we recommend: Commercium by ConstaCloud. This will help you easily identify it later.
7. Once the app is created:

  • Go to Versions from the left-hand menu.
  • Open the Access section.


8. Assign Required API Scopes

Select the following scopes:

    • Assigned fulfillment orders - Read & Write
    • Customers - Read & Write
    • Product feeds - Read & Write
    • Product listings - Read & Write
    • Products - Read & Write
    • Fulfillment services - Read & Write
    • Inventory - Read & Write
    • Orders - Read & Write
    • Order editing - Read & Write
    • Metaobject definitions - Read & Write
    • Metaobject entries - Read & Write
    • Merchant-managed fulfillment orders - Read & Write
    • Shipping - Read
    • Locations - Read
    •  Returns - Read & Write
    • Shopify Payments Payout - Read (Only when you want to automate the Payout records & record it further to sync to your ERP or Accounting tools)
    • Shopify Payments Accounts - Read (Same for Payout)


    Double-check all required scopes are selected.

    9. Release the App Version -


    • Click Release at the top of the page.
    • Enter a version name (avoid spaces & special characters, e.g., v1).
    • Click Done/Create.


    10. Generate a Custom Distribution Link(You can skip this step if you cannot find the Distribution tab)-
    • Go to the Home section of the app.
    • Open the Distribution tab.
    • Select Custom Distribution.
    • Enter your store domain in this format: storename.myshopify.com.


    11. Install the App on Your Shopify Store - 

    • Return to the Home section.
    • Install the app using the generated link.


    12. Retrieve Your API Credential
    • Go to Settings inside the Developer Dashboard.
    • Copy and securely store the following:
      • Client ID
      • Client Secret
    You will need these credentials to complete the integration.


    Now that you have your Shopify domain and API access token, you can proceed to complete the connection in Commercium.

    13. Log in to your Commercium Portal.

    14. Go to Integrations and select Shopify.

      • Enter a suitable Channel Name for your reference.
      • Then enter your Shopify domain, which is the store name you extracted earlier with the suffix.myshopify.com. For example, if your store name is MyGreatStore, then the full domain to enter will be MyGreatStore.myshopify.com.
      • After that, paste the API Access Token that you generated from Shopify into the Shopify API Token field.
      • Finally, click Connect to complete the integration.

      Important Note: If you recieve error after clicking Connect, please check all the permissions are added in Step 8. If you find any permission is missing from step 8 add the permission in Shopify app and repeat the step 9, 10, 11 and 12
